425 DX NEWS MAGAZINE ---> The latest issue (July 2010) is now available at
www.425dxn.org/monthly/index.html. Articles and pictures should be sent to
Nicola Baldresca, IZ3EBA (iz3eba[@]iz3eba.it)
DXCC NEWS ---> 9UXEV (Burundi, 2010 operation) has been approved for DXCC
credit. If you had this QSO rejected in a recent submission, please send a
note to dxcc@arrl.org. Please check either your LoTW account or the live
online daily DXCC listing , when credits are updated they will appear at
these locations. [TNX NC1L]
E2E ---> On 7 August 2010 the Thailand licensing authority approved the use
of the call sign E2E for all HF bands and all modes. "This is a real and
legitimate call", HS0ZCW says, "sought for contests and DXing in
representing Thailand on an equal basis like other 1x1 callsigns of other
nations". The callsign has been issued to the Radio Amateur Society of
Thailand's club station in Bangkok, whose main callsign remains HS0AC.
ILLW ---> The 12th annual International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend,
organized and managed by the Ayr Amateur Radio Group, will take place from
00.01 UTC on 21 August until 23.59 UTC on the 22nd. Complete information on
this popular event can be found at illw.net. The list of participating
stations (nearly 390 so far) is at http://illw.net/
QSL B4R/5 ---> Please note that the QSL route for the recent B4R/5 activity
from IOTA group AS-138 is via BA4TB (not BY4RSA, which is the ordinary
route for contacts made with B4R). [TNX BA4TB]
QSL VIA VE1AL ---> "I am ashamed to admit that I have found a box of QSLs
that I thought had been sent via the bureau many years ago", Al, VE1AL
says. "The cards are for QSOs with CY9DXX, CY0DXX, VE1AL and VF1L, plus a
few for other callsigns I have used. I am integrating my 2010 QSLs for
VE1AL with these cards and they should be in the mail to the bureau within
the next few weeks. Well over 1000 QSLs are involved and I regret that many
will probably be returned due to various reasons". All of Al's computerized
logs have been uploaded to LoTW, "but that does not include the CY9 or
CY0DXX logs".
ZS8M ---> Pierre, ZS8M is off the air from marion Island until 19 August,
while the supply ship is being unloaded. A new website, including pictures,
news and log search, can be found at www.iz8epy.it/html/zs8m.html
