4O     - Ark, UA4CC will be active as 4O7CC from Becici, Montenegro until  2
         October. He will operate CW, SSB and RTTY on 40-10 metres. QSL  via

5B     - Amateur radio operators in Cyprus are allowed to  use  the  special
         prefix 5B50 on 1-31 October to celebrate the  50th  anniversary  of
         the Republic of Cyprus. [TNX The Daily DX]
9A     - Look for Jan 9A/OK1JK, Ruda 9A/OK1HWS  and  Jiri  9A/OK1IEC  to  be
         active from Lastovo Island (EU-016) and Struga lighthouse  from  26
         September to 2 October. They will operate CW, SSB,  RTTY,  PSK  and
         other digital modes. QSL via home calls. [TNX OK1JK]
CT7    - CT1EJB,  CT2IUK  and  CT2JYX will be active as CR5WFF from  Paul do
         Boquilobo Nature Reserve on 25-26 September. QSL via CT1EJB, direct
         or bureau. [TNX CR5WFF]
I      - Giuseppe, IK5WWA says  he  is  active  as  IC8/IK5WWA  from  Ischia
         Island (EU-031,  IIA  NA-001)  and  various  lighthouses  until  27
         September.
I      - Look for  IB0/IZ2ACD  to  be  active  from  the  islands  of  Ponza
         (EU-045, IIA LT-001) and Zannone (EU-045, IIA  LT-012)  between  25
         September and 2 October. Activity will be on 80,  40,  20,  17,  15
         and 10 metres SSB and RTTY. QSL direct to home call.
OK     - Special event station OL61IAC will be active from 27  September  to
         10 October for the 61st International Astronautical Congress to  be
         held in Prague, Czech Republic. Expect activity  on  the  HF  bands
         SSB, CW, PSK31 and RTTY. QSL via OK1TIR (but please note  that  all
         of the QSOs will be confirmed automatically via  the  bureau,  LoTW
         and eQSL).
PY     - Look for PY7XC/p to be active from Itamaraca Island  (SA-046)  from
         26 September to 1 October. He will  operate  CW,  SSB  and  digital
         modes on 80-10 metres, with 400 watts and wire  antennas.  QSL  via
         home call. [TNX PT7WA]
R1_ant - Mike, RW1AI is currently active as R1ANP  from  Russian  "Progress"
         Station (Antarctica). He plans to operate as  R1ANP/A  from  nearby
         Chinese "Zhongshan" Station in  October  and  November,  using  100
         watts and a vertical antenna. [TNX DX World]
T6     - Terence, K5TLL (T6TL) and John, KD5NOI (T6JC) will be  active  from
         Kandahar, Afghanistan from October to May 2011. T6TL  will  operate
         SSB and digital modes on  40, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 metres using  a
         dipole. QSL T6TL via N4FF or LoTW, QSL T6JC via KD5NOI.
TA     - The TC Special Wireless Activity Team will be active  as  TC2010MVF
         on 24-26 September.  Activity  will  take  place  from  from  Motor
         Vessel Fenerbahce, now a part of the Rahmi M. Koc Museum  dedicated
         to the history of transport, industry and communications.  QSL  via
         TA1HZ (but all of the QSOs will be confirmed automatically via  the
         bureau). [TNX TA1HZ]
V7     - Yuri Sushkin, N3QQ is planning an  IOTA  operation  to  take  place
         from  the  Marshall  Islands  in  October.  His  current   schedule
         (subject to change, as "travel  in  RMI  is  very  unreliable",  he
         says) is to reach Majuro (OC-029) on 6  October,  then  to  be  QRV
         from  Enewetak  Atoll  (OC-087,  requested  call  V73QQ)  on  12-15
         October, from  Ujelang  Atoll  (OC-278,  new  one,  requested  call
         V73RRC) indicatively between 16 and 19 October and  possibly  again
         from Enewetak on 20-21 October. QSL via N7RO. Yuri is  looking  for
         other operators to join him in this IOTA adverture;  please  e-mail

VP5    - Peppe, I8UZA will  be  active  as  VP5/I8UZA  from  Providenciales,
         Caicos Islands (NA-002) during the months of October and  November.
         He will operate SSB on all bands except 30, 17 and 12  metres,  and
         will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest as VP5I on 15  metres.

W      - Tom AB6Z expects to be active from  San  Clemente  Island  (NA-066)
         between 1 and 28 October. He will operate CW and  some  SSB  on  40
         and 20 metres during his spare time. QSL via K5OAZ. [TNX VA3RJ]
YB    -  Celebrating   the    65th   anniversary   of   Indonesia   Post   &
         Telecommunications, Pri YB0ECT and others will operate as YB65C  on
         25-26 September. Expect activity on  on  80,  40,  20,  15  and  10
         metres CW  and  SSB.  QSL  via  YB1GJS  to  the  ORARI  QSL  Bureau
         (Gjellani  Joostman  Sutama,  P.O.  Box  1096,    Jakarta    10010,
         Indonesia). [TNX YB0ECT]
Z2     - Bob, AC7GP will be active as Z2/AC7GP from Harare, Zimbabwe  during
         a family visit from  30  September  to  1  November.  He  plans  to
         operate SSB, RTTY and PSK31 with 100 watts and  dipoles  mainly  on
         Mondays to Fridays, with activity during the CQ WW DX SSB  Contest.

CQ DX MARATHON 2010 ---> Each year CQ Magazine sponsors a challenge to  work
as many countries and zones as possible  in  the  calendar  year.  The  2010
edition of the CQ Magazine DX Marathon  ends  on  31  December.  Certificate
winners and their scores for the 2006 through 2009 Marathons are  listed  on
the DX Marathon website (www.dxmarathon.com), which  includes  also  helpful
hints to avoid common errors, a list of known pirate stations that will  not
likely count for the 2010  Marathon  and  a  DX  Marathon  scoresheet  as  a
template on Google Docs. Updates for the DX Marathon  due  to  the  upcoming
changes in the Netherlands Antilles will be announced by CQ  Magazine.  [TNX

DXCC NEWS ---> A52J (Bhutan, 2010  operation),  ZD9HGW  (Tristan  da  Cunha,
1999 Operation) and ZL7/N7OU (Chatham  Island,  2009  Operation)  have  been
approved for DXCC credit. If you had cards from these operations  that  were
rejected, please send a note to dxcc@arrl.org to have your  record  updated.

NETHERLANDS ANTILLES ---> On 23 September the ARRL Awards  Committee  issued
the following statement on the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles:
"To clarify the administrative process by which the anticipated  changes  to
the two existing Netherlands Antilles DXCC entities will be made,  the  ARRL
Awards Committee has determined that at 0400Z (12:00 AM local  time  in  the
islands) on 10 October 2010, the two Netherland Antilles DXCC entities  will
be deleted.
Commencing at 0400Z (12:00 AM local time) on  10  October,  2010,  operation
from the islands of Curacao, Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Saba, and  St  Eustatius
will count for a yet-to-be-determined number of new entities under the  DXCC
List Criteria, and Political Entities,  Rule  1  and/or  Rule  2  Geographic
Separation Entities. When the Awards Committee determines  what  Rule  1  or
Rule 2 actions  apply,  it  will  announce  the  final  disposition  of  the
entities on the DXCC list.
The DXCC desk will not accept confirmations for  these  new  entities  until
after 1 January, 2011".

QSL 5V7TT ---> Cards for  the  10-23  October  DXpedition  to  Togo  can  be
requested one of three ways: direct through the Online  QSL  Request  System
at http://www.i2ysb.com/; traditional direct mail to I2YSB  (Silvano  Borsa,
Viale Capettini 1, 27036 Mortara PV, Italy);  via  G6BMY  for  bureau  cards
only.  The  forum  for  the  DXpedition  is   now    up    and   running  at

QSL PX8J & PX8L ---> All of the direct and online requests  received  as  of
15 September were mailed on 21 September. Requests received between  16  and
29 September will be mailed on the 30th. Future requests will be  mailed  on

ZL POSTAL RATES ---> Postal rates in  New  Zealand  will  rise  effective  1
October. Basically, International Air Mail will be NZD 2.40 (USD  1.76)  and
International Economy will be NZD 1.90 (USD 1.40). A  Rate  Finder  tool  is

+ SILENT KEY + Manfred Reichert, DF1IK passed away  on  22  September  of  a
heart attack. He was 60 years old and was very active from Saudi Arabia,  as
an operator at HZ1AB and then (December 2004-May 2008)  under  his  personal
callsign HZ1IK.
