3Y_ant - Lars, SM4TUV will be working at the Norwegian Polar Reserach
Station "Troll", Queen Maud Land (Antarctica) from November until
December 2011 and will be active as 3Y8XSA. QSL via home call.

9L - Karl-Heinz, DK2WV and Heino, DJ9AF will be active as 9L0W from the
Banana Islands (AF-037) between 4 and 18 November. They plan to
operate CW, SSB and RTTY on 160-6 metres. QSL via DK2WV. [TNX

9Q - 9Q6CC is the new callsign issued to Christian, CX2CC for his
activity from Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He will
remain there for one year with activity on 80-10 metres SSB,
digital modes and QRS CW. QSL via home call (Christian Cardarello,
Avenida Italia 3319, 11600 Montevideo, Uruguay). Cards will be
replied "after February 2012".
CY0 - Licensed since July 2010, Alan, VE1AWW is a government employee
currently working at the Sable Island station until "more or less"
29 December. He is QRV during his spare time on SSB as CY0/VE1AWW,
with 100 watts into a vertical antenna. "I am not on the air
between 11 and 19z (12-20z once Canada switches from daylight
savings to standard time)", he says, but "I will do my best to
operate at different times on the weekends so as many different
areas as possible get an opportunity". QSL via home call, direct

DU - Vincent, F4BKV will be active holiday style as DU1/F4BKV from
Mindoro Island (OC-244) on 4-7 November. He will operate SSB and
PSK31 with 100 watts, home made dipoles for 15 and 20 metres and a
vertical for 40m. Expect him to be QRV mainly during his evening

JA - A group of operators (JH6TKW, JR0UIU, JH5UPS and JA2WBE) from the
Sony Kyushu ARC will be active as JF6ZNT from the Danjo Islands
(AS-056) on 5-7 November. They will operate SSB, CW and RTTY on

FJ - Nick, VE3EY will be active as TO3A from Saint Barthelemy (NA-146)
on 22-30 November. He will operate CW, SSB and RTTY on 160-10
metres, and will take part in the CQ WW DX CW Contest. QSL via

PJ2 - Look for PJ2/K2TQC, PJ2/N2MF, PJ2/W1NG and PJ2/K2NV to be active
from Curacao (SA-099) on 4-11 November. They plan to emphasize

PJ5 - The website for PJ5/SP6IXF and PJ5/SP6EQZ (St. Eustatius, 18

S7 - Luca, I5IHE will be active again as S79LC from Praslin Island
(AF-024), Seychelles from 26 October to 5 November. He will
participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest on 15 metres; before and
after the contest he will operate holiday style. QSL direct to

SM - Stephan, SM5YRA will be active as SM1YRA from Faro Island (EU-020)
and lighthouse on 7-19 November. He will operate holiday style on
digital modes and SSB with 100 watts and dipoles. QSL via home

T6 - Paul Ewing, N6PSE has been issued the call sign of T6PSE by the
Afghanistan Ministry of Telecom, and is planning a multi-national
DXpedition to take place over ten days in May 2011. A
multi-national team of nine operators (AH6HY, K1LZ, K3LP, N6PSE,
W0UCE, W5KDJ, WO1S, YI1UNH and YT1AD) will be active on 160-10
metres CW, SSB and RTTY with up to five stations at the same time
on different bands and modes. QSL via W3HNK, direct or bureau, and

TA - The TC Special Wireless Activity Team will operate as TC87TC on
29-31 October to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the
proclamation of the Republic of Turkey (Turkiye Cumhuriyeti).
Expect activity during the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via TA1HZ
(but all of the QSOs will be confirmed automatically via the

TA - IRESC (International Radio Emergency Support Coalition) Turkiye
will be active with five stations during the CQ WW DX SSB Contest:
TA2I, TC3I, TC4I, TC5I, TC8I. Further information can be found at

V2 - Bud, AA3B, will be active as V26K from Antigua (NA-100) on 24-29
November, including a SOAB Low Power entry in the CQ WW DX CW
Contest. This will be an all CW operation on the contest HF bands

V5 - Klaus, DJ4SO will be active again as V5/DJ4SO from Namibia from 3
November to 1 December. He plans to operate CW, RTTY, PSK31 and
some SSB on 160-6 metres, and to take part in the WAEDC RTTY
(13-14 November) and CQ WW DX CW Contests. QSL via DJ4SO, direct

VE - Special event station CG3MUG will be active throughout November to
celebrate the 100th anniversary of Thunder Bay MCTS Centre
(Canadian Coast Guard Radio Station). MUG was the callsign of the
original marine station, built in 1910 by the Canadian Marconi

VK9_c - Phil, G3SWH and Jim, G3RTE will be active as VK9C/G6AY from the
Cocos (Keeling) Islands (OC-003) between 22 February and 5 March
2011. They will operate CW only on 80-10 metres. Propagation
permitting, they plan to have two stations on the air for as many
hours every day as possible. QSL via G3SWH, direct or bureau. "We
are happy to meet the costs of transport to and from the islands",
Phil says, "but are seeking sponsorship and donations from
individuals, DX clubs and organisations towards our living

YS - YS1YS, HU1YS and special event callsign YS1FRACAP will be used
during the FRACAP (Federacion de Radio Aficionados de Centro
America y Panama) Convention that will be held on 5-7 November in

ZL7 - Toshi, JE1SYN and Hiro, JF1OCQ will be active as ZL7/W1SY and
ZL1WY/ZL7 from the Chatham Islands (OC-038) on 2-9 December. They

QSL UA0FUA ---> The cards have been printed and the QSL manager (IK2QPR)
has started processing the requests received so far. UA0FUA operates from
Iturup Island, AS-025.
QSL VIA RU6UR ---> QSL cards for DQ10KDR, EM10KDR, ER10KDR, LY10KDR and
R10KDR (December 2007) should be sent direct to RU6UR (Yury V. Kamenski,

SABLE ISLAND CANCELLED ---> "Today, prior to our planned departure to Sable
Island on Saturday, a major safety issue was discovered with the charter
aircraft that requires repair before we can fly", N0TG reported on 22
October. "It is estimated that acquiring parts and completing the repairs
will extend as much as three weeks or longer". The team (AA4VK, AI5P, N0TG
and VE1RGB) had no choice but to return home. They hope they will be able
to reschedule the DXpedition, but for the time being they cannot even say
if it will be possible. All of the donations received so far will be
