3A     - Look for 3A/IZ7EVZ to be active from Monaco on 7-10  September.  He
         plans to operate SSB on 80 and 160 metres only. QSL via home  call.

4X     - The Holyland DX  Group  (4X1VF,  4X4DZ,  4X6HP,  4Z4KX,  4Z5FI  and
         4Z5LA) will be active as 4X5A  from  Akhziv  Island  (AS-100)  from
         about 7 UTC on 21 October until about 12  UTC  on  the  22nd.  They
         will operate CW and SSB on  40-10  metres  with  two  stations  and
         verticals. QSL via 4Z5LA. [TNX NG3K]
A2     - Gert, ZS6AYU will be  active  again  as  A25/ZS6AYU  from  Jwaneng,
         Botswana on 9-12 September. He will operate  CW  hoping  that  "the
         QRM is not going to be so bad as last time and also that condx  are

F      - Weather permitting, Mathieu (MJ0ASP)  will  be  active  as  F5SHQ/p
         from Cezembre Island (EU-157) on 4 September. He  will  operate  CW
         only on or around 14040 and 10104 kHz.  QSL  via  MJ0ASP.  [TNX  DX

F      - Simon IZ7ATN, Vincent F4BKV and Christian EA3NT will be  active  as
         TM0INT from Tombelaine Island (EU-156)  on  10-11  September.  They
         will have two stations running 100  watts  into  vertical  dipoles.

F      - F6DXE, F4ELK and F4ELI will be actuve as TM5Q from Quemenes  Island
         (EU-065) from 30 September to 2 October. They will operate CW,  SSB
         and digital modes on 40, 20, 15  and  10  metres.  QSL  via  F4ELI,
         direct or bureau.
FP     - Eric, KV1J  and Jack, KV1E will  be active as  FP/KV1J and  FP/KV1E
         from  Miquelon Island (NA-032) from 25 October to 1 November. Plans
         are to  operate  SSB and  RTTY, with some  CW and  PSK31, on 160-10
         metres,  plus  6m "if indications of openings".  FP/KV1J will  take
         part  in  the CQ WW DX SSB Contest  (SOAB HP).  QSL via home calls,

G      - M0SFT, M0TGN and M0TTE will be active as MX0WCB  from  St  Martin's
         Island (EU-011) on 11-17 September. They will  operate  mainly  QRP

LY     - Twenty-three LY37 special event callsigns will be  aired  until  18
         September to celebrate EuroBasket 2011,  the  37th  European  Men's
         Basketball  Championship  being  held   in    Lithuania.    Further
         information, including details on the relevan award, can  be  found

OX     - Jiri OK1IEC, Jan OK1JK, Jiri  OK1JST  and  Vaclav  OK1VVT  will  be
         active  as  either  OX4OK  and  OX/homecall   from    Kangelussuaq,
         Greenland (NA-018) on 16-26 September.  They  plan  to  be  QRV  on
         80-10 metres and conditions and 2m EME. QSL via home calls  or  via
         OK1JST.
OZ     - Jakob, OZ7AEI and others will participate  in  the  IARU  Region  1
         Field Day (3-4 September) as OZ7MOR/p from  Mors  Island  (EU-171).
         They will operate SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK31 on 10, 15, 20, 40 and  80

OZ     - Martin, DC8MH and Michael, DL4ABO will be active as 5P7T  and  5P7N
         respectively from Fano Island  (EU-125)  on  9-11  September.  They
         will operate CW and SSB on the HF bands with two stations. QSL  via

PJ6    - Fred, K9VV will be active as PJ6/NP2X from  Saba  (NA-145)  on  4-9
         September. He will operate holiday style primarily on CW with  some
         SSB. QSL via K5WW. [TNX NG3K]
SM     - Axel, DL7ULF and Peter, DL7VMM will  be  active  from  SI9AM  (King
         Chulalongkorn Memorial  Amateur  Radio  Society,  www.si9am.se)  in
         Ragunda on 8-13 September, including an entry in  the  WAE  DX  SSB
         Contest. Outside the WAE event they will  operate  SSB  and  CW  on
         160-10 metres. QSL via SM3CVM, direct or bureau. [TNX SM3CVM]
SV9    - Look for  SV9/ON6DSL/p  to  be  active  holiday  style  from  Crete
         (EU-015) on 2-9 September. He will be QRV on  15,  17,  20  and  40
         metres SSB. QSL via home call, bureau preferred. [TNX NG3K]
T8     - Tatsuo, JA8CMC (T88TO) and Atsushi, JA8FAA (T88GO) will  be  active
         from Palau (OC-009) on 16-19 September. They will  operate  CW  and
         SSB on 80-10 metres. QSL via home calls.
TK     - Look for TK/IW5ELA and TK/I5NOC to be active from Corsica  on  4-11
         September. They will be QRV on 40, 20 and 15  metres  SSB  and  CW.
         QSL via home calls, direct or bureau.
TK     - Patrice, F5RBB and his wife  Mireille,  F4FRL  will  be  active  as
         TK/homecall from Corsica on 10-24 September. They will operate  SSB
         and digital modes on 40-10 metres. [TNX F6AJA and Les Nouvelles DX]
V4     - Once again  John, W5JON  will be  active as  V47JA  from  St. Kitts
        (NA-104)  from 10 October to 5 November. He will operate SSB on 80-6
         metres, and will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. His  wife
         Cathy, W5HAM  will  occasionally  operate as  V47HAM.  All QSLs via

V5     - DD8ZX, DF2UU, DF3GY, DJ6OV  and  a  few  local  operators  will  be
         active on 80-10 metres as V55V/p during the  IARU  Region  1  Field
         Day on 3-4 September. QSL via DJ8VC. [TNX DF3GY]
V6     - JA7HMZ (V63DX) and  JA7GYP  (V63T)  will  be  active  from  Pohnpei
         (OC-010), Micronesia on 3-8 October. They will operate CW, SSB  and

VK9L   - Merv, N6NO will be active as VK9OL from Lord Howe  island  (OC-004)
         on 10-18 September. The operation celebrates Merv's  75th  birthday
         and 60 years of ham radio. He plans to  be  QRV  on  40-10  metres,
         with a focus on CW and European openings. QSL via N6NO,  direct  or

W      - The Northeast  Wireless  Radio  Club  will  operate  special  event
         station NW2C on 11 September, in remembrance of the  tragic  events
         that occurred ten years ago. Activity will take place  on  SSB,  CW
         and RTTY from historic Fort Totten, Bayside  (NY)  from  17  to  23

ZK2    - Steven, ZL4CZ will be active as ZK2AB from Niue  (OC-040)  on  9-16
         September. He will operate holiday style using a  Buddipole  and  a
         multi-band vertical. QSL via home call (direct).
ZL     - To  celebrate  the  Rugby  World  Cup,  New  Zealand  amateurs  are
         permitted to replace their ZL prefix with the ZM prefix  throughout
         September and October. In  addition,  special  event  stations  are
         already QRV, including ZL4RUGBY  (operated  by  ZL4PW)  and  ZL6RWC
         (operated by the Papakura Radio  Club,  QSL  via  ZL1VK).  [TNX  DX

the ten Most Wanted DXCC Entities (333 QSLs), the 60 deleted  DXCC  entities
(1319 QSLs), obsolete prefixes (3448 QSLs), stations from Magrebh from  1947
to 1962 (382 QSLs), D5 and  DL5  stations  from  1945  to  1962  (65  QSLs),
Antarctic bases  (834  QSLs)  &  TAAF  (Terres  Australes  and  Antarctiques
Francaises, 266 QSLs), the  various  French  DXCC  island  Entities  in  the

QSL PP8ZAC ---> PY4KL (the Grupo Juizforano de CW, www.cwjf.com.br)  is  the
new QSL manager for Agustin, PP8ZAC, and has the  logs  from  2009  onwards.
This is the only station active on CW from the  rare  Amazonas  State.  [TNX

YASME FOUNDATION: GRANT TO EARS ---> Ethiopia came back on the air  May  30,
2011 with the re-opening of the  Ethiopian  Amateur  Radio  Society  station
ET3AA. Professor Heiko Schroeder, head  of  the  technical  faculty  of  the
University of Addis Ababa and PB2T, Hans Blondeel  Timmerman,  President  of
IARU Region 1, cut the ribbon in a reopening ceremony.
The Board of Directors of The Yasme Foundation (www.yasme.org) became  aware
that 25 club members were  scheduled  to  take  the  amateur  radio  license
examination in late July and that the fee for taking the exam was about  one
month's salary in Ethiopia.
Accordingly, the Board voted unanimously  in  favor  of  a  grant  to  cover
one-half of the examination  fees  for  all  25  applicants,  the  remaining
one-half having been previously committed from the Radio  Society  of  Great
Britain.  Yasme  Vice-President  and  Director   Fred    Laun,    K3ZO,  was
instrumental in making possible this grant. [TNX W6SZN]
