5W - Tom, KC0W (currently active as KH8/KC0W from American Samoa)
expects to continue his "Worldwide DXpedition" [425DXN 1289] and
go to Samoa (OC-097) around 15 June. Length of stay is not known.
Look for 5W0COW to operate CW only on 160-6 metres. Refrain from
working him twice on the same band, as "any station trying to dupe
QSO me will have all past QSOs deleted & will be blacklisted". QSL
via KC0W, direct only ("all QSL cards sent to my PO Box while I'm
on this DXpedition will be answered by an assistant"); logsearch
on Club Log. He will not use LoTW.
CT - Special callsign CR60P will be active on 17-23 May to celebrate
the 60th anniversary of the Portuguese Paratroopers. On 20-23 May

and logsearch on Club Log. A certificate will be available; see
qrz.com for the details. [TNX CT1IUA]
CT9 - Martti, OH2BH will be active as CT3BH from Madeira on 20-23 May.
He "has decided to bring back and treasure those great people and
locations that once introduced him to joy, provided learning, and
urged him to look at the world from a missionary DXing
perspective". His 70th anniversary journey in 2016 "will take him
to many of those original locations, allowing you to refresh your
memories at the other end of the radio circuit. Use the password
'QBH70' to put the pileup on hold and share one of your memories
right on the spot. This mode of DXing is called RETRO
DXpeditioning". After CT3BH, there will be more. "Dotting the
world is the greatest pastime of DXers, even though returning to
one's sweet home tends to beat such dotting. Qualifying for the
BH-SH (Back Home-Sweet Home) Award is a 14-dot mission: each
country with OH2BH operating alone and/or as part of a group
during 2016 gives you 1 point, whereas working Martti at his home
gives you 5 points - you need 10 countries to qualify". Activities

PDXG DONATION TO NC1L ---> "As you may recall, after a life altering
automobile accident in July, 2014 Bill Moore NC1L stepped down as the ARRL
Awards Manager.
Recently we learned that Bill was in need of a laptop computer. His current
Windows laptop is quite old and very much out of date. He is using an
iPhone and iPad but a Windows 10 laptop will be of great help in his
recovery. Bill cannot use his fingers except in a very limited way and at
that he has no strength. We hope this current technology laptop will be the
foundation for development of an interface that allows Bill to use the
Remote Ham Radio site with push buttons rather than mouse actions.
This particular laptop was used on the TX3X Chesterfield Island DXpedition.
The machine was refurbished by the Perseverance DX Group (www.pdxg.net),
loaded with Windows 10 and presented to Bill by Les Kalmus W2LK. PDXG is
extremely happy to have been able to help Bill on his long road to
recovery". [TNX K5GS]

PIRATE ---> 1A0KM was repeatedly pirated over the past few weeks. Genuine
operations are publicized in advance and information is published on
qrz.com, 1A0KM's QSL manager IK0FTA says. Do not waste your time and money
working fakers and requesting direct cards for unannounced activities.

QSL YB8OUN/P ---> This activity took place on 14-15 May from was Poat
island (OC-213). QSL via YB8RW, preferably through the OQRS on Club Log
(search for YB8OUN/P_POAT).

WRTC 2018: SPONSORED TEAMS ---> "Sponsored teams are a long-standing
tradition in WRTC and a substantial part for fundraising. It gives the
chance to take part in the WRTC to dedicated contesters who cannot qualify
because of serious commitments". The WRTC 2018 Organizing Committee is
looking for applications for the first two sponsored teams beginning on 1
June - see the details on www.wrtc2018.de.

WWFF ---> The "World Wide Flora and Fauna in Amateur Radio" aims to draw
attention to the importance of protecting nature. In this spirit amateur
radio operators set up and operate their radio stations from designated
nature parks and protected nature areas - generating attention for these
areas whilst giving the ham radio community an interesting activity to
contact. WWFF is an international and non-commercial program run by the
coordinators of a large number of Flora and Fauna national programmes. See
http://wwff.co/ for omplete information.

                         ===========================
                          Edited by  I1JQJ & IK1ADH
                        Direttore Responsabile  I2VGW

On  20-23  May
activity will take place from their base at Tancos. QSL via  CT1EHX
and logsearch on Club Log.
Activities
so far in 2016 include CU2KG/CR2X, Z68BH/Z60A, and  ZA/OH2BH.  [TNX
