FT4JA: QSL STATUS ---> "Many of you are wondering about the QSL, especially
when they read that some other stations get them already. What's going on
exactly?". See www.juandenovadx.com/en/qsl-card-july-14th/.

IOTA: FRIENDS OF IOTA UPDATE ---> During the first month of the Friends of
IOTA Appeal [425DXN 1311], "41 enthusiasts responded generously by donating
GBP 7,000, an amount that takes us a quarter of the way towards our initial
target", Roger Balister (G3KMA) reported on the IOTA website on 10 July.
"Once we reach our target we will not need to call on a promised commercial
loan to fund IOTA’s new IT system and anything above that figure will go
towards promotion of IOTA in ways that we have not previously been able to
fund". Donations are gratefully received through PayPal to the email
address islandsontheair[@]outlook.com (in the comments field add "Friends of
IOTA" and your callsign to identify you). See www.rsgbiota.org for the
complete report.

IOTA: PAPERLESS QSLING ---> The following was posted by Roger Balister,
G3KMA on the IOTA website on 10 July: "One of the first actions of Islands
on the Air (IOTA) Ltd., the new managers of the programme, has been to
expand the application routes on IOTA's existing software system to include
Club Log QSO Matches. This is intended as the first step to the
introduction of a much broader system of Paperless QSLing that is scheduled
to be launched in the late Spring of 2017. Only a relatively small number
of IOTA operations have been added at this time, mainly ones from islands
which satisfy the criterion of one DXCC entity equals just one IOTA. This
action was intended to provide a test run on how Club Log QSO matching
would work in due course on the new IT system. Even so, modest as this
approach is, more than 10,000 QSO matches were obtained in the first week,
and the first IOTA 100 Island applications have been received using this
option exclusively. As with all new IT enhancements there were a number of
bugs and queries raised which have now been resolved. Finally, to make use
of this additional feature, sign in to the IOTA website and go to
https://www.rsgbiota.org/mycredits/ and click on Club Log QSO Matches. Bear
in mind, this is not the full-blown system envisaged for introduction next
year. We will expand the list of accepted operations over the coming weeks
and months but, much as we would like to do more, it will be mainly in the
area of recent operations from the rarer IOTA groups and, of course, ones
that have uploaded logs to Club Log and indicated that they do not wish to
delay or block IOTA QSO matching".

IOTAMAPS ---> "otamaps (www.iotamaps.org) is a website run by, and for,
radio amateurs with an interest in the Islands On The Air (IOTA)
Programme". The site is independent from the Programme itself, "but is
intended to enhance the IOTA 'experience' by providing graphical and
mapping tools to enable users to quickly find IOTA activations sites on the
world map. In this way, users will hopefully develop a better understanding
of the conditions under which IOTA activations take place".

K6VVA/KL7: CANCELLED ---> K6VVA’s  "Mystery IOTA Project" [425DXN 1303]  has
been cancelled and "put in to QRX status until possibly 2017". One group had
"to be done between 13 July and 17 July", and the operation was cancelled
"due to poor solar propagation, but also a re-assessment of the costs of
extra safety precautions vs. the likely poor donations to actual IOTA Chaser
QSO ratio analysis". The remaining two activations have also been cancelled
because the NOAA 27-Day Forecast shows that "propagation will not now be
suitable for working the multitudes of Little Pistol signal IOTA Chaser
stations". See www.k6vva.com/iota/k6vvamysteryiotaproject.html for the PDF
document.

LKK-90 AWARD ---> Established to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the
Lviv Shortwave Club (LKK), it is issued in both electronic (free of charge)
and paper formats for contacts made with special stations with 90 in their
prefix and LKK members between 1 January and 31 December 2016. See
www.qrz.com/db/EN90W/ for further information. [TNX UY5XE]

TX3X QSL & LOTW STATUS ---> The final press release for last year's TX3X
DXpedition to the Chesterfield Islands is dated 12 July. "OQRS direct
confirmation requests are processed weekly. Requests received by mail are
processed immediately and queued for mailing in the next weekly cycle. At
this time there are no pending direct card requests. All busted call and
Not in Log requests have been researched and answered. The complete log was
uploaded to LoTW on April 16, 2016. OQRS bureau requests and cards received
via the bureau system were processed and bulk mailed from the United Kingdom
to the worldwide QSL bureaus on July 11, 2016.

busted call / Not in Log requests as they are received. If you requested a
direct card via OQRS or mailed a direct request and have not received your

K6VVA/KL7: CANCELLED ---> K6VVA’s  "Mystery IOTA Project" [425DXN 1303]  has
been cancelled and "put in to QRX status until possibly 2017".

We will continue to process  OQRS,  direct,  bureau  requests  and  research
busted call / Not in Log requests as they are received.  If you requested  a
direct  card via OQRS or  mailed a direct request and have not received your
card(s) please email k5gs[@]arrl.net with the  details of your QSO(s)". [TNX
