5N     - Tom, PA3TG will be active again as  5N/PA3TG from  Nigeria on 15-25
         November.  He will be QRV on  30 metres  CW and 20 metres  SSB & CW
         mainly  during  his  evening hours.  QSL  via home call, direct  or

DL_ant - A couple of amateur radio operators will be working at  the  German
         Antarctic station Neumayer III and be  QRV  in  their  spare  time.
         Felix, DL5XL will operate mainly  CW and digital  modes  as  DP1POL
         (QSL  via DL1ZBO, direct or bureau, and LoTW) from November through
         February 2017; Daniel, DL1SU will be QRV as DP0GVN (QSL via DL5EBE)
         from December to February 2018. [TNX DX World]
DU     - Tom, KC0W is active as  4I7COW [425DXN 1330] from the  Philipppines
         until 22 November. He operates CW only with a focus  on 160 metres.
         QSL via KC0W (direct only) and logsearch on Club Log.
KH6    - Eric, KH6EB works on the uninhabited island of  Kaho'olawe (OC-019)
         for ten days every month, located  at the base camp  which supports
         the state's  efforts  to  restore the island.  He is there until 16
         November, and will return on 12-21 December.  During his free  time
         in the evenings and mornings (around  16-17 UTC,  3-5 UTC  and  6-9
         UTC), he is QRV on 20 metres SSB (14265 kHz), PSK31 (14070 kHz) and
         JT65 (14076 kHz). QSL direct to KH6EB, LoTW and eQSL. [TNX qrz.com]
T8     - JJ1DQR will be active again as T88QR from  Koror (OC-009), Palau on
         17-20 November. Last time he was there he operated SSB mainly on 20
         metres. QSL via JJ1DQR, direct or bureau
TL     - TL8TT is  the  callsign  that the  Italian DXpedition Team will  be
         using during their February 2017 DXpedition to  the Central African
         Republic (exact dates TBA). A team of seven  (I1HJT, I2YSB, IK2CIO,
         IK2CKR, IK2DIA, IK2HKT and JA3USA) will will operate CW and SSB  on
         160-10 metres,  and RTTY  on one band  to be selected  depending on
         propagation.  QSL via I2YSB.  A band & mode survey can be found  on
         www.i2ysb.com/idt/  along  with  other  information, logsearch  and
         OQRS.
UA     - Special event callsign R26MDXC well be activated on  14-30 November
         to celebrate  the  26th  anniversary  of  the  Miller  DX  Club  of
         Millerovo,  Rostov Oblast.  QSL via  RQ7L;  OQRS on Club Log.  [TNX

V6     - The Nara DX Association's V6J expedition to  Mwokil Island (OC-226)
         [425DXN 1325] has been  postponed as  the ship has  been cancelled.
         Nonetheless, the team will not give up, and will wait  for the next
         ship which is  due  to  depart  "in  spring  next  year".  Bookmark

VK9N   - Tim, NL8F (VK9NF) and Paula, NX1P  will be active on  160-10 metres
         from Norfolk  Island (OC-005)  from 22 November to 3 December.  Tim
         will operate SSB  and JT65, while  Paula will operate  CW and RTTY;
         she also plans to  be active  during  the  CQ  WW  DX  CW  Contest,
         hopefully as VK9NX. QSL VK9NF via N7RO,  QSL Paula's operation  via
         NX1P. They plan to upload their logs to Club Log and LoTW. [TNX The

VP2V   - Look for VP2V/K2SX, VP2V/W1UU, VP2V/W2LK and VP2V/WA6O to be active
         from Tortola,  British Virgin  Islands (NA-023)  on 22-29 November.
         QSL  via  home  calls.  They will partecipate  in  the  CQ WW DX CW
         Contest as VP2VI (QSL via W2LK). [TNX NG3K]
VP8_ant- Once again Mike, GM0HCQ is active from  onboard the  Royal Research
         Ship 'James Clark Ross'. Whilst in  Antarctic and  Falkland Islands
         waters he  uses the  call  VP8CMH/mm, at  all other  times he  uses
         GM0HCQ/mm. The ship is  due to arrive at  Rothera Base  on Adelaide
         Island (AN-001), Antarctica on 27  November and  depart on the 30th
         (dates are subject to change), and if time allows Mike will  be QRV
         as VP8ROT. QSL for all callsigns via GM0HCQ (direct only), LoTW and

XW     - Tony, KM0O will be active as XW0YO from Laos on 19-28 November.  He
         will operate CW and SSB on 160-10 metres, with main activity during
         the CQ WW DX CW Contest. QSL via LOTW only. [TNX The Daily DX]
XZ     - Zorro JH1AJT, Champ E21EIC, Franz,  DJ9ZB and  Madison W5MJ will be
         active from Myanmar on 15-22 November (callsign TBA).  Zorro's main
         purpose of this trip is to support the local Olympic and Paralympic
         Committee. Activity will be on 80-10 metres  CW, SSB and RTTY  with
         two stations, using two  beams for 30-10 metres  and wire verticals
         for the other bands. QSL via JH1AJT; logsearch and OQRS on Club
Log.

YB     - Imam, YB4IR plans to be active as YB4IR/8 from the Lucipara Islands
         (OC-274)  on 14-18 November.  QSL via  home call, direct  or bureau
         (see qrz.com for the link to  Club Log's  OQRS  for direct  cards).

YB     - A large team will be active as  YB16T from  Panjang Island (OC-237)
         on 18-20 November. They will be  QRV on  40, 20 and 15 metres.  QSL
         direct to HA3JB; Indonesian stations can QSL direct to ORARI Daerah
         Banten.
ZD8    - Alan, K0AV will be  active as  ZD8V from  Ascension Island (AF-003)
         from 21 November to 1 December. He will operate mainly CW on 160-10
         metres, and  will  participate in the  CQ WW DX CW Contest  as ZD8W
         along with W6NV. QSL ZD8V via K0AV and LoTW. [TNX The Daily DX]

CARIBBEAN TRIP ---> After  several  activations  from various  DX  locations
during the year 2016,  Martti, OH2BH & friends  are going to the  Caribbean.
V26BH  will  be  QRV  from  Antigua  on  Martti's  birthday  (19  November),
continuing with  sporadic  activity  throughout the weekend.  The party will
then move forward to  Dominica, in order to  participate in the  CQ WW DX CW
Contest as J70BH.  QSOs with V26BH and J70BH  count for 5 points  toward the
"BOTA 70 - Birthday On The Air" award.
"In addition to these on-air  activities, HamSphere(R),  the Virtual Amateur
Radio platform, will be introduced to the educational system of Dominica  on
23  November.  Under  the group's  supervision, selected  youth  teams  will
compete for speed and accuracy  in an emergency  communication drill  dubbed
'Haminica  2016'.  The   project  is   sponsored  by   Dominica's   National
Telecommunication  Regulatory  Commission.  The  other  end of  the  traffic
exercise is managed/observed at the ARRL HQ". [TNX OH2BH]

EQUATORIAL GUINEA & ANNOBON ---> KC0W's future plans include DXpeditions  to
both Equatorial Guinea (3C) and  Annobon Island (3C0).  "I will be traveling
to 3C land in December to personally submit all 20+ forms to their licensing
authorities",  Tom  says.  "These proposed  50-60 day long DXpeditions  will
hopefully be QRV after I return to  Equatorial Guinea a second time with all
of my gear in January".

IOTA CONTEST 2016 ---> The following activations  have  provided  sufficient
documentation and have been accepted for IOTA credit: BD4KA (AS-146), BG2RHE
(AS-158),  BG5BWZ  (AS-141),  BH3PTL  (AS-134),  VA2NDX  (NA-128)  and  ZY8D
(SA-072). You need to upload your log file once more  in order to claim  QSO

WRTC 2018 ---> The official competition rules for the  2018 World Radiosport
Team Championship that will be held in Germany have  been  released  and are
now   available  at  http://wrtc2018.de/index.php/en/competition.  "We  have
discussed the rules with potential competitors by e-mail as well as with the
WRTC  Sanctioning  Committee", Uwe Koenneker  (DL8OBF, Director  of the WRTC
2018 Rules Committee) said. "Publishing the rules about 20 months before the
event gives potential competitors the chance to practice  according to these
rules".  Any  questions  concerning  the  rules   should  be  addressed   to
competition[@]wrtc2018.de or to the WRTC 2018 Mailing List.

XU7AMD ---> Six members of the XU7MDC team (namely  I2VGW,  IZ8CCW,  IT9ZZO,
YB3MM and YB3TET) went on a  side trip to  Ta Kiev Island (AS-133)  and were
active as XU7AMD on 7-9 November. Electricity was limited and available only
between 10 and 15 UTC daily. QSL via IK2VUC,  direct (PayPal  information on

YOTA 2017 ---> The 7th edition of Youngsters On The Air, hosted by the Radio
Society of Great Britain (RSGB), will be held on 5-12 August 2017 at Gilwell
Park, North London.  Each  IARU Region 1 member society  is invited  to take
part with a team (maximum four persons, three aged 15-25 years plus one team
leader).  See  the  "Call for Applications"  on  either  www.iaru-r1.org  or
www.ham-yota.com. The deadline for  submitting  applications is 31 December.

+ SILENT KEY + The doyen of French DXers, Ivan Pastre (F3AT) passed away  on
8 November.  He had turned  102  seven months ago.  Active since  the  early
1930s, he favoured CW; he was fond of DX chasing and  had 339/388  (current/
total) in the DXCC Mixed standings,  and 338/354 in the  DXCC  CW standings.
While  in  Africa  with  the  Air Force, he operated as  FQ3AT  from  French
Equatorial Africa (Chad) and FE8AB from Cameroon in 1947-1948, and  as FF8AG
while stationed in Bamako (Mali), French West Africa, in 1951. [TNX F6AJA]

5N     - Tom, PA3TG will be active again as  5N/PA3TG from  Nigeria on 15-25
         November.  He will be QRV on  30 metres  CW and 20 metres  SSB & CW
         mainly  during  his  evening hours.  QSL  via home call, direct  or

DL_ant - A couple of amateur radio operators will be working at  the  German
         Antarctic station Neumayer III and be  QRV  in  their  spare  time.
         Felix, DL5XL will operate mainly  CW and digital  modes  as  DP1POL
         (QSL  via DL1ZBO, direct or bureau, and LoTW) from November through
         February 2017; Daniel, DL1SU will be QRV as DP0GVN (QSL via DL5EBE)
         from December to February 2018. [TNX DX World]
DU     - Tom, KC0W is active as  4I7COW [425DXN 1330] from the  Philipppines
         until 22 November. He operates CW only with a focus  on 160 metres.
         QSL via KC0W (direct only) and logsearch on Club Log. 
KH6    - Eric, KH6EB works on the uninhabited island of  Kaho'olawe (OC-019)
         for ten days every month, located  at the base camp  which supports
         the state's  efforts  to  restore the island.  He is there until 16
         November, and will return on 12-21 December.  During his free  time
         in the evenings and mornings (around  16-17 UTC,  3-5 UTC  and  6-9
         UTC), he is QRV on 20 metres SSB (14265 kHz), PSK31 (14070 kHz) and
         JT65 (14076 kHz). QSL direct to KH6EB, LoTW and eQSL. [TNX qrz.com]
T8     - JJ1DQR will be active again as T88QR from  Koror (OC-009), Palau on
         17-20 November. Last time he was there he operated SSB mainly on 20

TL     - TL8TT is  the  callsign  that the  Italian DXpedition Team will  be
         using during their February 2017 DXpedition to  the Central African
         Republic (exact dates TBA). A team of seven  (I1HJT, I2YSB, IK2CIO,
         IK2CKR, IK2DIA, IK2HKT and JA3USA) will will operate CW and SSB  on
         160-10 metres,  and RTTY  on one band  to be selected  depending on
         propagation.  QSL via I2YSB.  A band & mode survey can be found  on
         www.i2ysb.com/idt/  along  with  other  information, logsearch  and
         OQRS.
UA     - Special event callsign R26MDXC well be activated on  14-30 November
         to celebrate  the  26th  anniversary  of  the  Miller  DX  Club  of
         Millerovo,  Rostov Oblast.  QSL via  RQ7L;  OQRS on Club Log.  [TNX

V6     - The Nara DX Association's V6J expedition to  Mwokil Island (OC-226)
         [425DXN 1325] has been  postponed as  the ship has  been cancelled.
         Nonetheless, the team will not give up, and will wait  for the next
         ship which is  due  to  depart  "in  spring  next  year".  Bookmark

VK9N   - Tim, NL8F (VK9NF) and Paula, NX1P  will be active on  160-10 metres
         from Norfolk  Island (OC-005)  from 22 November to 3 December.  Tim
         will operate SSB  and JT65, while  Paula will operate  CW and RTTY;
         she also plans to  be active  during  the  CQ  WW  DX  CW  Contest,
         hopefully as VK9NX. QSL VK9NF via N7RO,  QSL Paula's operation  via
         NX1P. They plan to upload their logs to Club Log and LoTW. [TNX The

VP2V   - Look for VP2V/K2SX, VP2V/W1UU, VP2V/W2LK and VP2V/WA6O to be active
         from Tortola,  British Virgin  Islands (NA-023)  on 22-29 November.
         QSL  via  home  calls.  They will partecipate  in  the  CQ WW DX CW
         Contest as VP2VI (QSL via W2LK). [TNX NG3K]
VP8_ant- Once again Mike, GM0HCQ is active from  onboard the  Royal Research
         Ship 'James Clark Ross'. Whilst in  Antarctic and  Falkland Islands
         waters he  uses the  call  VP8CMH/mm, at  all other  times he  uses
         GM0HCQ/mm. The ship is  due to arrive at  Rothera Base  on Adelaide
         Island (AN-001), Antarctica on 27  November and  depart on the 30th
         (dates are subject to change), and if time allows Mike will  be QRV
         as VP8ROT. QSL for all callsigns via GM0HCQ (direct only), LoTW and
         eQSL.  Follow the  ship  itinerary  and  Mikes'  daily  updates  at

XW     - Tony, KM0O will be active as XW0YO from Laos on 19-28 November.  He
         will operate CW and SSB on 160-10 metres, with main activity during
         the CQ WW DX CW Contest. QSL via LOTW only. [TNX The Daily DX]
XZ     - Zorro JH1AJT, Champ E21EIC, Franz,  DJ9ZB and  Madison W5MJ will be
         active from Myanmar on 15-22 November (callsign TBA).  Zorro's main
         purpose of this trip is to support the local Olympic and Paralympic
         Committee. Activity will be on 80-10 metres  CW, SSB and RTTY  with
         two stations, using two  beams for 30-10 metres  and wire verticals
         for the other bands. QSL via JH1AJT; logsearch and OQRS on Club Log.

YB     - Imam, YB4IR plans to be active as YB4IR/8 from the Lucipara Islands
         (OC-274)  on 14-18 November.  QSL via  home call, direct  or bureau

YB     - A large team will be active as  YB16T from  Panjang Island (OC-237)
         on 18-20 November. They will be  QRV on  40, 20 and 15 metres.  QSL
         direct to HA3JB; Indonesian stations can QSL direct to ORARI Daerah
         Banten.
ZD8    - Alan, K0AV will be  active as  ZD8V from  Ascension Island (AF-003)
         from 21 November to 1 December. He will operate mainly CW on 160-10
         metres, and  will  participate in the  CQ WW DX CW Contest  as ZD8W

CARIBBEAN TRIP ---> After  several  activations  from various  DX  locations
during the year 2016,  Martti, OH2BH & friends  are going to the  Caribbean.
V26BH  will  be  QRV  from  Antigua  on  Martti's  birthday  (19  November),
continuing with  sporadic  activity  throughout the weekend.  The party will
then move forward to  Dominica, in order to  participate in the  CQ WW DX CW
Contest as J70BH.  QSOs with V26BH and J70BH  count for 5 points  toward the
"BOTA 70 - Birthday On The Air" award.
"In addition to these on-air  activities, HamSphere(R),  the Virtual Amateur
Radio platform, will be introduced to the educational system of Dominica  on
23  November.  Under  the group's  supervision, selected  youth  teams  will
compete for speed and accuracy  in an emergency  communication drill  dubbed
'Haminica  2016'.  The   project  is   sponsored  by   Dominica's   National
Telecommunication  Regulatory  Commission.  The  other  end of  the  traffic

EQUATORIAL GUINEA & ANNOBON ---> KC0W's future plans include DXpeditions  to
both Equatorial Guinea (3C) and  Annobon Island (3C0).  "I will be traveling
to 3C land in December to personally submit all 20+ forms to their licensing
authorities",  Tom  says.  "These proposed  50-60 day long DXpeditions  will
hopefully be QRV after I return to  Equatorial Guinea a second time with all
of my gear in January".

WRTC 2018 ---> The official competition rules for the  2018 World Radiosport
Team Championship that will be held in Germany have  been  released  and are
now   available  at  http://wrtc2018.de/index.php/en/competition.  "We  have
discussed the rules with potential competitors by e-mail as well as with the
WRTC  Sanctioning  Committee", Uwe Koenneker  (DL8OBF, Director  of the WRTC
2018 Rules Committee) said. "Publishing the rules about 20 months before the
event gives potential competitors the chance to practice  according to these

XU7AMD ---> Six members of the XU7MDC team (namely  I2VGW,  IZ8CCW,  IT9ZZO,
YB3MM and YB3TET) went on a  side trip to  Ta Kiev Island (AS-133)  and were
active as XU7AMD on 7-9 November. Electricity was limited and available only

YOTA 2017 ---> The 7th edition of Youngsters On The Air, hosted by the Radio
Society of Great Britain (RSGB), will be held on 5-12 August 2017 at Gilwell
Park, North London.  Each  IARU Region 1 member society  is invited  to take
part with a team (maximum four persons, three aged 15-25 years plus one team
leader).  See  the  "Call for Applications"  on  either  www.iaru-r1.org  or
www.ham-yota.com. The deadline for  submitting  applications is 31 December.

+ SILENT KEY + The doyen of French DXers, Ivan Pastre (F3AT) passed away  on
8 November.  He had turned  102  seven months ago.  Active since  the  early
1930s, he favoured CW; he was fond of DX chasing and  had 339/388  (current/
total) in the DXCC Mixed standings,  and 338/354 in the  DXCC  CW standings.
While  in  Africa  with  the  Air Force, he operated as  FQ3AT  from  French
Equatorial Africa (Chad) and FE8AB from Cameroon in 1947-1948, and  as FF8AG
while stationed in Bamako (Mali), French West Africa, in 1951. [TNX F6AJA]
