IOTA HONOUR ROLL ---> "The 2017 Honour Roll and Annual Listings have been
posted on the IOTA website (http://www.rsgbiota.org/info/). Together the two
main listings show growth of 8.4% over the same listings in 2016. 207
record-holders have scores of 1000 or more IOTA groups, an increase of
11.3%, and 552 have scores of at least 750 groups, the number required for
the IOTA Plaque, up by 6.4%. Scores at the top continue to close with 35
record-holders breaking through the 1100 mark. Congratulations to joint
leaders 9A2AA, I2YDX and I8ACB on 1118 groups out of a possible 1123 and
indeed to all who have joined the IOTA family or updated in the last year".

IREF ---> The Island Radio Expedition Foundation (IREF) was founded in 1999
for the sole purpose of providing financial assistance for expeditions to
rare IOTA groups (i.e. confirmed by 15% or less of island chasers). The
organization is truly international in scope and a seven person Board (N5UR,
NI5DX, W9DC, K9AJ, G3NUG, CT1EEB and JA9IFF) decides on grants. IREF has
provided about $75,000 in funding since its inception. "IREF hasn't had to
solicit support in over a decade, but the contribution landscape seems to be
changing", IREF President Mike Crownover (AD5A) says, and the Foundation
"has recently had to reduce our grant amounts because of a shrinking
treasury". With the advent of OQRS, "it is much easier for individuals to
direct their dollars specifically to expeditions they work", but when using
OQRS, "you only support expeditions you work, contributing to IREF who
supports rare expeditions might provide enough support for expeditioners to
go to that next one you need". To contribute via PayPal, go to
www.islandradio.org and click on the "Join" tab. IREF is also in need of a
webmaster: "if you are so inclined and have the expertise", please contact
AD5A or AB5EB.

OH2BH'S BIRTHDAY ON THE AIR (BOTA) ---> "The OH2BH 70th Birthday Anniversary
tour was to include ten stops. They've taken Martti to the countries and
islands that once affected him greatly along his road to becoming such a
well-known figure in the DX and Contest communities. But he missed one of
them. EA8BH, the Canary Islands will now be aired post festum in the ARRL DX
Contest this coming weekend (4-5 March). You can complete your BOTA hunt
with EA8BH. The list of 2016-17 BOTA events includes CU2KG/CR2X, CT3BH,
OH0B, OJ0B, ZA/OH2BH, Z68BH/Z60A, V26BH, J70BH, OF9X and EA8BH. Contacts
with these ten stops give you 5 points each, while working OH2BH/OH70BH
during 2016 adds 25 points to your point account. There is a surprise prize
for the winner and a signed certificate for high scorers". [TNX OH2BH]

QSL GALLERY ---> The large collection of QSL cards on Les Nouvelles DX's
web site has been updated. Fifteen different galleries include 14,507 cards

ARRL DX SSB CONTEST ---> Object of the contest is for W/VE amateurs  to work
as many stations in as many  DXCC Entities as  possible on the  160, 80, 40,
20, 15, and 10 metre bands, while DX stations  (also including KH6, KL7, CY9
and CY0) work as many W/VE amateurs in as  many of the 48 contiguous  states
and provinces  as  possible  (complete rules on www.arrl.org/arrl-dx).  This
year's event  will  run from  00.00 UTC on  4 March through 23.59 UTC on the
5th.  Do not forget  to  give a  look  at the  Announced Operations  listing
maintained  by  Bill, NG3K at  http://www.ng3k.com/Misc/adxs2017.html - good
contest to you all!

[TNX G3KMA]

Fifteen different galleries include 14,507  cards
for the ten Most  Wanted  DXCC  Entities  (2004-16),  the  62  deleted  DXCC
Entities, obsolete prefixes,  stations  from  Maghreb  from  1945  to  1962,
Allied Forces stations in Germany (1945-70), special stations  commemorating
ITU and IARU, Antarctic bases and TAAF (Terres  Australes  and  Antarctiques
Francaises), the various French DXCC island Entities in the  Pacific  Ocean,
the Indian Ocean and the Americas (from 1945 to 1970),  pre-1945  countries,
French Departments and CONUS, plus a  gallery  for  cards  not  accepted  by
DXCC. Your participation is encouraged: www.LesNouvellesdx.fr. [TNX F6AJA].
