3C       - Vitaly, VE6JO has received  his visa [425DXN  599] and will  leave
            for Bioko Island (AF-010), Equatorial Guinea  on 20 November.  The
            licence has been issued (3C2MV) and he plans to operate on as many
            bands and modes as possible. [TNX The Daily DX]
9M6      - Kazu, JA1RJU will  operate as 9M6JU  from East  Malaysia on  18-25
            November. He  expects to  operate  on HF  and  6 metres.  QSL  via
            JA1RJU. [TNX OZ6OM]
C5       - A total of eleven operators (namely DL9GFB, LA6FJA, N0DY,  OH3BHL,
            OH9MDV,  OH9MM,  YL1ZF,  YL2GM,  YL2KL,  YL2LY  and  YL3CW)   will
            participate in  the C53M/C56R  operation from  The Gambia  [425DXN
            595]. They will be active as  C56R on 160-6 metres CW, SSB,  RTTY,
            PSK31 and SSTV  from 20 November  until 2  December, including  an
            entry in the CQ WW DX CW Contest  as C53M. QSL via OH3RM. The  web

C6       - Look for  W4SAA/C6A  to be  active  from  South  Bimini  (NA-048),
            Bahamas on  15-26 November.  QSL via  home call  either direct  or
            through the bureau. He will participate in the CQ WW DX CW Contest
            as C6AKP  (Multi-Two)  with N4RP.  QSL  to  N4RP,  preferably  via

C6       - Look for C6A/N7NU,  C6A/K7AR, C6A/WJ7R and  C6A/N7MQ to be  active
            from Treasure Cay (NA-080), Bahamas from  17 through 25  November.
            QSL via  home calls.  They will  participate in  the CQ  WW DX  CW
            Contest as C6AJX (Multi-Single). QSL via N7NU. [TNX NG3K]
D2       - Vitor, CT1FSC will operate again as D2/CT1FSC from Luanda,  Angola
            on 15-25 November. He will be  active on 15 and  40 metres in  his
            free time. QSL via home call. [TNX CT1FSC]
EA6      - DL1GGT, DL1SAN and  DL6SAQ will  participate in  the CQ  WW DX  CW
            Contest as  EA6/DL1GGT (Multi-Two)  from Menorca  in the  Balearic
            Islands (EU-004). In  the UTC morning  hours of  19 November  they
            will take advantage of the Leonids meteor shower and operate on  2
            metres  from  JN20  (EA6/DL6SAQ),   JN10  (EA6/DL1SAN)  and   JM29
            (EA6/DL1GGT). [TNX DL1GGT]
ER       - Special event station ER60SB will be  aired on 17-24 November  and
            again from 23 January through 2  February to commemorate the  60th
            anniversary of  the Battle  of Stalingrad.  QSL via  ER1DA  either
            direct (Valery Metaxa, P.O. Box 3000, Chisinau, MD-2071,  Moldova)

FG       - Rony, FG5FU is active from Guadeloupe  as TO5ROM for the Route  Du
            Rhum until 24 November. [TNX ARRL DX Bulletin]
FS & PJ7 - Dave, KM3T will be active (with  an emphasis on 160 and 6  metres)
            as either FS/KM3T (St. Martin) and PJ7/KM3T (St. Maarten) on 20-26
            November. He  will participate  in  the CQ  WW  DX CW  Contest  as
            FS/KM3T. QSL via K2PF. [TNX NG3K]
GW       - Look for  MW3AFR/p  and MW3AGN/p  to  be  active  from  Caernarfon
            lighthouse  (WAL-003,  IOTA  EU-005)   on  23  November,   weather
            permitting. QSL via home calls, direct or bureau. [TNX VA3RJ]
HC8      - G3XTT, HA1AG, K1DG, K1EA, K5KA, K6AW, K9NW, N5KO, S50A, S56MM  and
            WA6O will participate in the CQ WW DX CW Contest as HC8N from  the
            Galapagos Islands  (SA-004).  The team  will  be active  on  6-160
            metres 16 November through the 27th. QSL via W5UE. [TNX N5KO]
JT       - Special event station JV5C will be  active from Mongolia on  20-24
            November. QSL via JT1KAA. [TNX JT1KAA]
KC4_ant  - Dave, NK3T is currently active (typically between 02.30 and  04.00
            UTC around 14243  kHz) as KC4/NK3T  from McMurdo Station  (AN-016,
            WABA K-09), Antarctica until late January  or early February.  QSL

KL       - John, KL7JR will be active from Shemya Island (NA-037) for a month
            starting on 24 November. Look  for him mainly  on or around  28500
            kHz after 16 UTC on Sundays  only. QSL direct  to home call.  [TNX

LA       - LA1LGN is the special callsign used for operation from the Coastal
            Radio Station LGN  - Bergen  Radio to  celebrate its  90 years  of
            service for ships at sea. From  18 through 30 November it will  be
            replaced by  LM1LGN. Special  QSL via  bureau or  direct to  LA1B.

            On 23 and 24 November LGN - Bergen Radio itself will be be calling
            amateur radio stations on 3631 kHz USB and listen for calls (CW or
            USB) between 3650  and 3700 kHz.  Look for  LGN at  14-16 UTC  and
            18-20 UTC on 23 November, and  at 10-12 UTC and  16-18 UTC on  the

LU & CE  - Jacques/F5JY,   Yves/F5TYY,    Alain/F6BFH,   Jacquie/F6EGG    and
            Bernard/F9IE [425DXN  597] operated  as LU/homecall  from  Redonda
            Island (SA-049) on 12 November and  as CE8/homecall from  Navarino
            Island (SA-050) on 13-14 November. Their next plans are not known,
            but, according to La Gazette du  DX, they are likely to return  to
            France earlier than expected due to the high cost of the boat they
            used to reach  Navarino. Their original  plans were  to remain  in
            Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego (SA-008) until 22 November. QSL via home

LU_ant   - Jorge is  the new  operator of  LU1ZV  at "Esperanza"  base  (WABA
            LU-06, IOTA AN-016) on Trinity Peninsula for the upcoming  austral

PJ       - Jim, K1NA  will  be  operating  as  PJ5/K1NA  from  St.  Eustatius
            (NA-145) during the CQ WW DX CW Contest. [TNX The Daily DX]
PY       - Several operators will activate special  event station PV2DAE  (on
            6, 10, 15, 20, 40 and 160 metres SSB and CW) on 15-16 November  to
            celebrate the 101st  anniversary of DAE,  the Water Department  of
            the City  of Jundiai,  Brazil (http://www.daejundiai.com.br).  QSL
            via PY2LDJ either direct (P. O. Box 1292, 13202-970 Jundiai -  SP,
            Brazil) or through the bureau. [TNX PY2ZX]
S0       - Peter, G3WQU/CN2PM (aka E4/G3WQU) will participate in the CQ WW DX
            CW Contest as S07PM (Single Operator  Low Power) from Tifariti  in
            Western Sahara. QSL direct only to Peter McKay, MINURSO, P.O.  Box
            80000, Laayoune, Western Sahara, Morocco. [TNX G3WQU]
S9       - Denise, F6HWU  will be  active (on  10-80 metres  mainly CW,  with
            maybe some RTTY) as  S9WU from Principe  Island (AF-044) on  16-30
            November, including a SOAB entry in  the CQ WW CW DX Contest.  QSL
            via F6HWU either  direct (Denise Le  Cleach, 9  Avenue Jean  Mace,

S9       - Paul, K1XM (S9MX) and Charlotte, KQ1F  (S9CR) expect to be  active
            from Principe  Island  (AF-044) [425DXN  601]  from  19  until  28
            November. Paul will participate in the CQ WW DX CW Contest (SOAB),
            before and after the contest  look for activity  mostly on 12,  17
            and 30 metres.  They will then  move to Sao  Tome (AF-023) and  be
            active on 10-20 metres until  2 December. QSL  via KQ1F. [TNX  The

XU       - Hiroo, JA2EZD/XY1M left  Yangon on  11 November,  after some  3500
            QSOs. He will  be back to  Myanmar in January  2003, when he  will
            concentrate on  the low  and WARC  bands.  Hiroo is  currently  in
            Cambodia and has got a new callsign (XU7ADX); he and 7N4QHA/XU7ACG
            will be active  (with an empahisis  on 6 metres  for Europe)  from
            Sihanoukville until  20  November.  QSL  XU7ADX  via  XW2A  (Hiroo
            Yonezuka, P.O.Box 2659,  Vientiane, Laos), QSL  XU7ACG via  7N4QHA

XW       - Champ, E21EIC will be active  (on 160-10 metres  CW and SSB,  with
            some RTTY, PSK-31 and SSTV) as XW1IC from Laos on 21-28  November.
            The main reason for his trip is the participation in the CQ WW  DX

YA       - On 12 November Hiro Nakanishi, JA1CQT got a written permission  to
            operate as  YA1CQ from  Afghanistan. He  will  be there  until  23
            November, but he plans to  go back to  Kabul in mid-December.  QSL

YB       - Antonio, IZ8CCW reports that Adhi, YC3MM, might be active  (mainly
            on 15 metres SSB) from an island in OC-245 during the weekend. QSL
            via IZ8CCW.
ZF       - Dan, N9XX will  be active as  ZF2RR (QSL via  home call) from  the
            Cayman Islands (NA-016) on 17-26 November. He will participate  in
            the CQ WW CW DX Contest as  ZF1A (QSL direct to W5ASP) with  K6AM,
            K9LA, K9MK, KG5U, N4GI and W5ASP. [TNX OPDX Bulletin]

DXCC NEWS ---> 9U0X and 3XA8DX are now accepets for DXCC credit.

QSL FO/IK2QPR ---> Paolo reports that  all the requests  received so far  for
his August operation  from Bora Bora  will be replied  to within  the end  of
November.

QSL GM7V & GZ7V ---> The  new QSL manager for GM7V and  GZ7V is M0CMK  (Linda

QSL OY3QN ---> Allis, OZ1ACB has  run out of cards for  OY3QN. Please do  not

QSL VIA  VK8NSB --->  Stuie, VK8NSB  reports that  QSL  cards have  now  been
completed for the  Darwin Amateur Radio  Club's VI8ABC  & VK8DA/P  operations
from Emery  Point Lighthouse.  All those  who  contacted both  stations  will
receive a QSL via the bureau. Direct cards will be handled by VK8NSB.

+ SILENT KEY + When your editors visited  Hawaii, back in 1990, they had  the
pleasure of spending their last day  there with Rick Senones, KH7RS (at  that
time KH6JEB) of Kure Island fame. We are now greatly saddened by the news  of
the passing of Rick, who became a silent key on 9 November.
