3D2_rot  - Tony, 3D2AG (aka FO5RK) is  currently active (mostly  on 40 and  20
           metres CW) as FK/FO5RK from Noumea, New Caledonia until the end  of
           April. In May/June he plans to go to Rotuma and operate as 3D2AG/p.
           He says  there is  shortage of  fuel on  the island  and the  solar
           panels he used in the past do not work any longer. Tony is  looking
           for someone (individual amateur or DX club) who can help him obtain
           a few solar  panels (12V) to  charge his battery  and a small  beam
           antenna.  If   you   can  help   him,   please  contact   Tony   at

7X       - Yves, F5MSR is again active as 7X0MT from Algeria. He operates  QRP
           with a long wire, and prefers  CW and digital  modes. QSL via  home
           call, direct or bureau. [TNX F5NQL]
F        - The Radio Club  Nord Cotentin  (F6KFW) will  operate special  event
           station  TM4ORE  from  Cherbourg  on  5-11  March,  for  the   40th
           anniversary  of  SSBN  "Le  Redoutable".   Launched  in  1967   and
           decommissioned  in  1991,  the   first  French  ballistic   missile
           submarine is now used as a museum ship. [TNX F8REF]
F        - Three YL operators  will be active  on SSB,  CW and  RTTY from  the
           Council of Europe Radio  Club (TP2CE) on  9-11 March, to  celebrate
           the International Women's Day. QSL via F5LGF. [TNX F6FQK]
F        - TM5P will  be  the  callsign for  the  10-11  March  activity  from
           Pontusval  Lighthouse  [425DXN   825].  The  previously   announced
           callsign, TM4P, was used during the  latest CQ WPX RTTY Contest  by
           radio club  F6IPA. In  order to  avoid  confusion in  QSLling,  the
           lighthouse operators have applied for a new callsign. QSL TM5P  via
           F4ELJ. [TNX F4ELJ]
JA       - Look for JA6QDU/6 to operate CW and  SSB on the HF bands from  Aino
           Island (AS-012, JIIA  AS-012-002) on 4  March. QSL  via home  call,
           direct or bureau. [TNX JI6KVR]
J8       - Gary, W0AW will operate as J8/W0AW  from Bequia Island (NA-025)  on
           10-16 March. Activity  will be on  CW, RTTY and  some SSB on  10-80
           metres, plus 160m if antenna space is available. QSL via home call,
           direct or bureau. [TNX N0ODK]
SP       - Special callsign HF40PAZ will be  aired from 1  March to 30  April,
           and again on 1-30 September, to  celebrate the 40th anniversary  of
           club station SP6PAZ. QSL via SP6DVP, direct or bureau. [TNX SP6DVP]
TA       - Pavel/OK1MU,     Slavek/OK1TN,     Standa/OK1AU,     Zdenek/OK1FIA,
           David/OK1RK, Karel/OK1DG and  Vlada/OK1CW will be  active from  two
           IOTA island groups in Turkey as follows:
           4-6 March         YM0DX      Bozcaada      EU-099
           7-11 March        TC0DX      Gokceada      EU-186
           They will operate CW and SSB  on 40-10 metres.  QSL for both  calls
           via OK2GZ,  direct  or  (preferably)  through  the  bureau  (e-mail
           requests for bureau cards cand be sent to ok2gz@quick.cz).  Further

V8       - Kanzi, JA4ENL will once again operate as V85NL from Brunei on  8-12
           March. Activity  will  be  mainly  CW  on  all  bands  (160  metres
           included). QSL direct to home call. [TNX OPDX Bulletin]
VK       - 2-9 March  are  the new  dates  for John's  (VK6HZ)  activity  from
           Rottnest Island  (OC-164) [425DXN  525].  He will  operate  holiday
           style as VK6ARI.  QSL via VK6NE.  Logs will be  available after  12
           March at http://home.exetel.com.au/vk6hz [TNX VK6HZ]
W        - University of Mississippi ARC (W5UMS) members W5BJC, W5JMO,  WB5HSX
           and W5MPC will be active as  K5I from Horn Island (NA-082 on  10-11
           March. They expect to be  on the island  from around noon  Saturday
           through noon Sunday, and to  operate SSB, CW  and digital modes  on
           20, 40 and 80 metres. QSL via W5MPC. [TNX W5MPC]

IPY ---> A number of special callsigns are expected to be aired starting on 1
March to celebrate  the 4th International  Polar Year.  For instance,  expect
Francois/F8DVD to operate  as TM4IPY (QSL  via home  call), Charles/M0OXO  to
operate as GB4IPY (QSL via  M3ZYZ), Svetly/LZ3SM to  operate as LZ07IPY  (QSL
via  home call), Adriano/I3XMQ  to  operate as IA3IPY (QSL via home call) and
Francesco/IZ7AUH to operate as IP7IPY (QSL via home call).

ARRL INTERNATIONAL DX CONTEST (SSB) --->  Object of the  contest is for  W/VE
amateurs to work as many stations  in as many DXCC  countries as possible  on
160, 80,  40,  20, 15,  and  10 metre  bands,  while foreign  amateurs  (also
including KH6, KL7, CY9 and CY0) work as many W/VE stations in as many of the
48 contiguous states and provinces as  possible (full rules  can be found  at
http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2007/intldx.html). The following  stations
have announced their partecipation in this year's event (from 00.00 UTC on  3
March through 24.00 UTC on the 4th):

GERMAN LIGHTHOUSES ---> Detlev Hoepner, DL1RTW  is the new Award Manager  for

QSL 8Q7GL ---> Gianluca, IK0XIH reports that the QSL cards will not be  ready
before late March at the earliest.

QSL VIA IK3GES  ---> Gabriele reports  that all  of the  direct requests  for
5V7SE have been processed and mailed (requests without return postage or with
expired IRCs have been sent via  the bureau). Elvira, IV3FSG (5V7SE) will  be
back to Togo on 5  March; then she  will go to  Burkina Faso (requested  call
XT2SE). QSL via IK3GES, direct (with SAE and sufficient postage) or bureau.

QSL VIA LZ1AF --- Dim, LZ1AF  reports pilferage of  currency directed to  his
P.O. Box in Sofia. If QSLling direct, please avoid sending USD, but use 1 new
IRC instead. Dim also QSLs 100% via the bureau. [TNX K5XK]

QSL VIA  RN3RQ --->  Please note  that the  current QSL  manager for  RP3RST,
RX3RXX and UA3RAR is RN3RQ (Alex, RW3RN can confirm contacts made through  31
December 2002 only). [TNX RW3RN]

W-LKK-M --->  George Chlijanc,  UY5XE reports  that the  Lviv Shortwave  Club
(LKK) issues a certificate, available to  either licenced amateurs and  SWLs,
for contacts made with at  least 10 club  members (further details  available
from uy5xe@rambler.ru).

+ SILENT KEY + Phil Goetz, N6ZZ passed away unexpectedly on 27 February at 64
years of  age, after  suffering from  a brain  hemorrhage.  A CQ  WW  Contest
Committee member, he was  only one of  two radio amateurs  to operate the  CQ
World Wide DX Contest from all of the 40  CQ Zones. In his CQ WW  46-year-old
