3C - The website for the 5-14 October DXpedition to Bioko Island
(AF-010), Equatorial Guinea [425DXN 849] can be found at
http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/ea5yn/3c7y.htm. The team
will run three stations (one for SSB, one for CW and one for RTTY
and 6 metres) with two amplifiers, yagis for 10, 15 and 20 metres, a
5-element yagi for 6m, a rotative dipole for 40m and dipoles for the
other bands. QSL via EA5BYP.
5R - Willi, DJ7RJ will be active again as 5R8RJ from Nosy Be (AF-057)
from 26 September to 26 October. Expect activity on 160-10 metres CW

EA6 - Javi, LU5FF reports he will be active as EA6/LU5FF from Mallorca,
Balearic Islands (EU-004) until 16 November. He will operate CW and
SSB on 30-10 metres. QSL via EA7FTR.
EL - The 5L2MS team members [425DXN 849] have received their individual
callsigns: EL2AK (Arie/PA3A), EL2AG (Ad/PA8AD), EL2AN (Arie/PA3AN)
and EL2AO (Henk/PA3AWW). The expedition will take place on 3-24
October. Their goals are to activate Liberia on 160-10 metres CW,
SSB and RTTY, to raise funds for a charity project in cooperation
with Mercy Ships, and to support the Liberia Radio Amateur
Association (LRAA) with equipment. Bookmark www.liberia2007.com for

FM - FM5LD is the callsign issued to Philippe, F8EFU, who is now
stationed on Martinique (NA-107). For the time being he operates
mainly CW on 30 metres, using 50 watts into a wire which he hopes to
replace with a new antenna as soon as possibile. QSL via FM5LD,

FO - Hiro, JI1JKW will operate as FO/JI1JKW from Raiatea (OC-067), French
Polynesia from 30 Septenber to 4 October. He plans to be active
holiday style on 40-6 metres SSB and CW. QSL via home call, direct

H40 - Mike, KM9D and Jan, KF4TUG are now going to Tikopia Island (OC-178),
Temotu Province. They will be active as H40MY, but "their estimated
time of arrival, length of stay and operating plans are unknown at

HR - The announced 23-28 September multi-operator activity from Swan
Island (NA-035) was cancelled [425DXN 855], but Javier, HR2J is
still determined to go and operate from this rare IOTA group. He now
hopes to reach the island by a Navy ship, while the return trip will
be by an Air Force plane. Javier will be running a one-man
expedition from 7 October to 8 November, and he expects to operate
barefoot as HQ8R on all bands for at least four hours a day. Further

HV - Francesco, IK0FVC has been authorized to use a special callsign,
HV50VR (where VR stands for Vatican Radio), to celebrate the
fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Vatican's broadcasting
centre at Santa Maria di Galeria. Activity on all bands and modes
will start on 27 September, and the special callsign will be used
also during the main contests. QSL via IW0GPN (direct); logs will be

Francesco has been also authorized to set up a new station with the
callsign HV6SP. QSL via IK0FVC (direct), logs will be uploaded to

I - ARI Ivrea is active as IU1ARI through the end of October to
celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Associazione Radioamatori
Italiani. QSL via IQ1IV, bureau or direct. [TNX IK1SOW]
JA - Look for JH0IEW/6 to operate from the Daito Islands (AS-047) from 28
September to 9 October. He will be active from two different
islands, namely Minami-Daito (JIIA AS-047-002, until 2 October) and
Kita-Daito (AS-047-001) QSL via home call, direct or bureau. [TNX

SM - Tom, DL2RTK will be signing SD7T (instead of SE7TK) during the 6-13
October activity from Ven Island (EU-137) [425DXN 855]. The other
operators are Fred/SM7DAY (SM7DAY/7), Frank/DL2SWW (SD7W), and
Ric/DL2VFR (SD7V). On 6 October they will be QRV with only one
antenna and possibly low power, as the QTH they have chosen (close
to Hakens Fyr, ARLHS SWE-168) will be available on the 7th. QSL via

SV5 - Look for Ermanno, SV0XAN/5 to be active from the islands of Lipsi,
Agathonisi and Arkoi (Dodecanese, EU-001) on 2-20 October. QSL via

T30 - Toshi, JA8BMK has arrived on Tarawa, West Kiribati and is now active
as T30XX [425DXN 855]. The Daily DX reports that he will remain
there "for about three weeks before heading over to Central Kiribati
(T31)". QSL via JA8UWT.
VE - Brent, VY2HF (ex-VE1JH) and Ken, VE3HLS on Miscou Island (NA-068)
from 28 September to 5 October. They plan to operate as either
VY2HF/VE9 or VE3HLS/VE9 on 6 metres, SSB and CW. [TNX F5NQL]
VK - Christoph, DK2CRN (VK2AMB) and George, DL1ECG (VK2ALU) will be
active from Australia on 9-27 October. They plan to visit and
operate holiday style from Fraser Island (VK4, OC-142), Heron Island
(OC-142), Hamilton Island (VK4, OC-160) and Dunk Island (VK4,
OC-171) between 16 and 26 October. QSL via home calls, direct or

W - Look for K1AN/p to operate QRP CW (14040-14060 kHz) from Pomham
Rocks Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-643) and Sabin Point Lighthouse
(ARLHS-715), Rhode Island on 6 October, from 15 to 19 UTC. QSL via

W - The W5-National Wildlife Refuge ARC will operate from the Hagerman
National Wildlife Refuge (http://www.fws.gov/southwest/refuges/
texas/hagerman/index.html) on 12-14 October. This operation
coincides with the National Wildlife Refuge Week and is in support
of the KP1-5 Project and the US national wildlife refuge system.
Look for W5NWR on SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK on frequencies of

3B7C ---> 3B7C closed down at 03:31 UTC on 25 September, one day later than
originally planned. The on-line log has been updated to include all QSOs up
to QRT time. There are now 135,718 QSOs in the log (50888 SSB, 78411 CW, 6419
RTTY). Band breakdowns are: 10m 7499, 12m 8810, 15m 18773, 17m 20605, 20m
30887, 30m 13385, 40m 19613, 80m 13227, 160m 2919. "When I get the actual
logs from the logging PCs in a few days time", John, G3WGV says, "then I'll
be able to publish on-line logs based on those".
A52VE ---> Nao, JA1HGY reports that Kunio Saito, A52VE (JA8VE) went QRT on 3
September and returned to Japan because of health problems. He was expected
to remain in Bhutan until March 2009.
