3D2      - Eddie DeYoung, VK4AN and his  13-year-old son Rajiv, VK4FRAJ 
  will
            be active as  3D2A from Malolo  Lailai (OC-121),  Fiji 
Islands  on
            17-31 May, CQ WW WPX CW Contest included. They plan to 
operate CW,
            SSB, RTTY and  PSK31 on 160-6  metres, with two transceivers 
  with
            amplifiers for the HF bands, plus one radio for 6 metres.

4O       - Joska, HA9RT will  be active  as 4O/HA9RT  from Budva, 
Montenegro
            from 30 May to 6  June. He plans  to operate mainly  CW on

4W       - The Spanish  "RadioSolidaridad" project  for Timor  Leste 
[425DXN
            881] has received the callsign 4W6R. The team will be active 
  from

5Z       - Look for 5Z4DX to be active from Kenya between 14 May and 11 
June,
            including a side trip to Wasini Island (AF-067) on 25-26

9A       - Kiko/9A4KW, Felix/9A5BS and Zak/9A5ZP will be active as 
homecall/p
            the Plitvice Lakes National Park, Licko-Senjska county on 10 
  May.
            They plan to operate  SSB and PSK  on 40, 30  and 20 metres.

9A       - Frans, ON6KN will be active holiday  style as 9A/OO6N from 
Losinj
            Island (EU-136) on  12-24 May. QSL  via ON6KN,  direct or

9A       - Alessandro,  IK4ALM  and   Sergio,  IZ4BBF  will   be  active 
   as
            9A/homecall from the island of Sveti Nikola (EU-110) on 
15-19 May.

9M6_spr  - John, 9M6XRO and Steve, 9M6DXX, will lead a team of six 
operators
            to Pulau Layang Layang, Spratly Islands (AS-051) between 1 
and  14
            March 2009. Activity  will be  on 10-80  metres CW,  SSB and 
  RTTY
            using three stations, two with full legal limit linear 
amplifiers.
            Callsign to be confirmed and QSL information via M3SDE 
(direct  or

DL & OZ  - Heinz, DL4AO will be active as DL4AO/p from Ruegen Island 
(EU-057)
            and as OZ/DL4AO from  Bornholm Island (EU-030)  between 10 
and  26
            June. He  will operate  in his  early morning  and late 
afternoon
            hours, mostly on  20 metres. While  on Bornoholm  he will 
operate
            also on 6 metres  CW and SSB.  All of the  QSOs will be 
confirmed

EA       - The Demon DXers Team (www.demondsdxers.es) will be active as 
EE1TR
            from Tazones lighthouse at Villaviciosa on  2-4 May. They 
plan  to
            operate SSB, CW and RTTY on 80-6 metres. QSL via EA1YG,

F        - Francois, F5JNE will be active  as F5JNE/p from  Belle Ile en 
  Mer
            (EU-048) on 8-21  May. He plans  to operate mainly  CW 
during  his

F        - Dieter (DK5PZ), Volker  (DL1WH), Peter (DL2RPS)  and Rene 
(DL7WR)
            will operate  from the  Council of  Europe Radio  Club 
(TP2CE)  on
            16-18 May. They  will concentrate  on the  low bands  CW, 
SSB  and

F        - Didier, F4ELJ will be active as F4ELJ/p from Groix Island

G        - The CQ CQ Portable Group will be  active on the HF bands plus

            6m and 70cm as GB0PIA from Piel Island (EU-005) on 24-25

GJ       - Charles, M0OXO and Nigel, M0NJW will be active as GB8LMI from 
  Les
            Minquiers Islands (EU-099)  on 23-29 July,  including an 
entry  in

GM       - MM0DFV, GM0WRR,  MM0GDL and  hopefully GM4TOQ  will be 
active  as
            MS0EPC (for PSK) and MS0DGR  (for other modes)  from a few 
EU-123
            islands in the Firth of Clyde on 3-4 May. They plan to 
operate for
            about 2-3  hours  from  each  island.  Depending  on  the 
weather
            condition and  other circumstances,  the  islands will  be 
Horse,
            Lady, Ailsa Craig, Pladda, Inchmarnock and Little Cumbrae 
Island.

HC       - Al, HC2SL will be QRV on 160 metres (1830 khz listening 10 
kHz up)

JA       - Look for JA1UNS/1, JI1PLF/1, 7N1GMK/1, 7L4PVR/1 and 7N4VPS/1 
to be
            active from Hachijo  Island (AS-043) on  16-19 May.  They 
plan  to

KH2      - Lee, HL1IWD (as KH2/K1IWD) and and Harry, WX8C (as KH2/WX8C)

            be  operating  from  Guam  (OC-026)  on  23-26  May,

            multi-single entry in the CQ  WW WPX CW  Contest as

LZ       - Special station LZ08KM will be active on 1-31 May to 
celebrate St.

OK       - Special event station OL1908D will be  active through 31 May 
  from
            the Czech  Republic  to celebrate  the  100th anniversary 
of  the

PA       - Bill, ON5JE and Luk, ON4BB will be active from  Schouwen 
Duiveland

Memorial

            the capital   of  the  ancient  Makedonian   kingdom,   on 
  14-15
            and   21-22   June   for   the   International   Museums 
Weekend

UR       - The Ukrainian Amateur Radio League (UARL)  will be 
represented  by
            EM5HQ in  the IARU  HF World  Championship (12-13  July).

            the bureau). A special certificate will be sent to stations 
making

V6       - Shoji, JA7HMZ will be active again as V63DX from Pohnpei 
(OC-010),
            Micronesia on 19-24 May. He  plans to operate  on bands (6 
metres

VE       - Juergen, DL7RV  will  be active  as  VO2/NF6J from  Battle 
Island

VE       - Chris, GM0TQJ will  be active as  VO2/GM0TQJ from Labrador 
during
            the period 23 September-2 October. He will be QRV on 80-10 
metres

VR       - Celebrating the Games of the XXIX Olympiad to be held in 
Beijing,
            the Hong  Kong  Amateur Radio  DX  Association  has  been 
granted
            permission to operate special event station  VR2008O from 15 
  July
            to 31 August. Expect activity on 40-6 metres, mainly SSB, 
RTTY and

ZS8      - Petrus, ZS6GCM has  been on Marion  Island for  one month 
[425DXN
            883] and the staff  takeover period is  now completed. The 
latest
            information bulletin,  dated 28  April (http://zs8t.net/), 
stated
            that Petrus was "planning on starting construction of the 
antennas
            this week and will be QRV as ZS8T by 9 May". [TNX ZS6DXB]

8R1WD ---> "Following on from my  recent e-mail informing  of the 
passing  of
Peter, 8R1J", says Phil Whitchurch (G3SWH),  "some helpful soul has 
taken  it
upon himself to  amend the entry  on QRZ.com to  show that  Peter, 8R1WD 
  had
become a 'silent key'. To quote Mark Twain, reports of Peter's death are 
very
much exaggerated and  neither was he  too pleased to  learn of his 
passing!"
Phil has managed to get the entry on QRZ.com corrected.

ADXO ENHANCEMENT ---> Bill, NG3K (Bill@ng3k.com)  recently made a 
functional
improvement   to    his    ADXO    (Announced    DX    Operations) 
listing
(http://www.ng3k.com/Misc/adxo.html). Active DX operations now include a 
link
to the DX Watch spot database. The link  is located beneath the call 
sign  in
the Call field for most active DX operations listed in ADXO. A user 
clicking
on [spots] will view a real-time list of recent DX Cluster spots for the 
call
in question. DX Watch (www.dxwatch.com) is an innovative second 
generation DX
spotting application that integrates data from  packet cluster, qrz.com, 
  and
425 DX News.

ARI INTERNATIONAL  DX CONTEST  --->  The Associazione  Radioamatori 
Italiani
(ARI) invites  amateur  radio  operators  and SWLs  all  over  the 
world  to
participate in  the 2008  A.R.I. International  DX Contest,  which will 
  take
place on 3-4 May (from 20 UTC on Saturday thorugh 19.59 UTC on Sunday).

JAPAN: NEW BAND PRIVILEGES ---> Effective  28 April, amateur radio 
operators
from Japan have gained more privileges on  the 80/75 metres band and are 
  now
allowed to operate on the following frequencies: 3500-3575 kHz, 
3599-3612 kHz
(new), 3680-3687 kHz (new), 3702-3716 kHz (new), 3745-3770 kHz 
(3745-3747 kHz
and 3754-3770 kHz new) and 3791-3805 kHz. [TNX JARL]

QSL VIA 5B4AHO ---> Due to his impending return to the UK, George, 
5B4AGC  is
no longer QSL manager for Pafos Radio  Club. The new QSL manager for 
5B4PRC,
C4EU and C4EURO is 5B4AHO (Barry  Carter, P.O. Box  79, Pegeia, 8560 
Paphos,
Cyprus). Cards that have already been sent  via the bureau to 5B4AGC 
will  be
automatically forwarded to 5B4AHO. All direct  requests for these calls

metres
