The Halifax Explosion was a maritime disaster in Halifax, Nova Scotia on 6 December 1917. The blast devastated the Richmond district of Halifax, killing 2000 people and injuring more than 9000. Commemorating those tragic events, the Halifax ARC has been issued the special call CK100VDA for the period 2-10 December. All QSOs will be confirmed automatically via the bureau and LoTW; direct cards should be sent to VA1YL.
