Yeah my legal name is Harold. But don't call me that. I'll think you were talking to my great uncle who I was named after .

I am Ross, have always been Ross and always will be Ross. So call me Ross. OR Doc OK ?

Born in 1951 and first licensed as WN2UIG ( Novice ) in 1962 in Riverdale, Bronx, NY

Became a Technician the following year with call sign WA2BCY which I held until 1970 when I moved to Pennsylvania to go to college at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. I was very active in the radio club there ( W3YR ) I upgraded to General Class and was issued call sign WA3VJJ.

After upgrading to Extra my call became AK3M which I held for several years until the Vanity Call Sign program began when I applied for and was granted K3HR. In January 2016 I moved to Long Beach Island, New Jersey ( NA-111 ) an island 5 miles off the coast ,35 miles north of Atlantic City. I'm kind of old fashioned and I still feel that your callsign should indicate where you are located. So I applied for and was granted W2TT on July 23, 2016.

I have always been active in VHF and UHF. While living in PA for 40 years I was instrumental in setting up several repeaters and then owned a few 2 meter and 440 machines on the Main Line. My interests changed, as they often do in Amateur Radio, and I became an avid contester. I now enjoy Meteor Scatter on 6, RTTY, CW Contests, JT65, JT9, some SSTV, DMR and most recently FT8

I am a Life Member of ARRL and I belong to the South Jersey Dx Association, and the Old Barney Amateur Radio Club.

"Old Barney" is the famous lighthouse at the tip of Long Beach Island, in the Borough of Barnegat Light. Itisjust 3 miles from my house. This lighthouse is in operation and has guided ships heading for New York City since 1859 ! Barnegat Light Borough was founded in 1652 and was a whaling port. Today Barnegat Light is one of the major sea scallop fishing ports. So if you like sea scallops ( not bay scallops ) they very likely came from here.

My other interests are Harley Davidsons, sailing, skiing and most sports.
