XW4ZW will be QRV December 3 - 8, 2017 with focus on the lowbands.

Thanks to Lee, K7TJR and Hi-Z Antennas, we will have a brand new Hi-Z 4-8 Pro vertical RX array to use. It will complement the south beverage.

While we have some very effective receive antennas at a QTH far outside of the city, a problem still exists where I am being heard better than I am hearing stations calling me. It's very frustrating and somewhat embarassing, hearing from people how loud I am and that they have been calling sometimes for 30 minutes or more. To be sure, we're fighting an uphill battle with poor band conditions. I spoke to noted propagation expert Carl Luetzelschwab K9LA about this, to see if there might be more going on. Is there such a thing as one-way propagation?

K9LA and W3LPL did a wonderful Webinar on propagation for the upcoming 2017/2018 season which is posted at:

The entire Webinar is worth watching, but Karl addresses challenges on lowband paths between the US and XW starting at 32:30 in the recording. Some interesting food for thought.

Please no dupes! If we have worked before, please do not call again, as tempting as it may be. Give others a chance.

Bureau Cards - All bureau cards received will be answered but it is time consuming and expensive. Please note that I receive cards from the bureau on average once or twice per year. It takes up to 1 year to answer the cards. You will need to be patient.
